What Are the Requirements?
To enroll in this training, you must:
Be a licensed Smog Check Inspector.
Have received an official citation from the BAR requiring corrective training.
BAR Citation Training
Minimum of 8 total hours, which may include a 4-hour online component.
Actual training hours may vary depending on the conditions of the citation issued by the BAR.
Online quiz to confirm completion of the online component.
Review of official inspection procedures.
Hands-on assessments using vehicles with emission control defects or tampering.
Final written exam.
